Crunch Bandicoot was created by Dr. Neo Cortex to simply destroy Crash and aid him in taking over the world and gaining access to all the Power Crystals.

Crunch and Crash Bandicoot have multiple run-ins in the game series and everytime Crash defeats Crunch even when Crunch has the Power Crystals on his side. Crunch is aggressive and very powerful with a mechanical arm with enormous strength that can do major damage per hit.

[edit] After Wrath of Cortex

After the events of Wrath of Cortex, Crunch was persuaded onto the side of Crash, becoming an ally. He is a major ally in Nitro Kart, N-Tranced, Tag Team Racing, and Titans. He was absent in Huge Adventure/XS, and appeared as a cameo in a group of villains in Twinsanity.
