Dr. Nefarious Tropy, or N. Tropy for short, is another friend of Cortex's. N. Tropy is the evil scientist of time (with N. Gin being robotics, N. Brio being potions, and N. Trance being hypnosis).

N. Tropy first appeared in Crash Bandicoot 3, and was the third boss. His design has worked its way up the scale, up to his latest console game, Crash Twinsanity. He hasn't appeared in any game since 2004, unless you exclude the Boom Bang cameo. In Twinsanity, one of Tropy's arms are robotic.
