A faithful underling of Dr. Neo Cortex. N.Gin serves as Cortex's right hand man, and takes over N. Brio's position was in the first game. He is a popular fan favorite and has appeared in several Crash games since his debut in Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back.
He is voiced by Brendan O'Brien in all the Naughty Dog games, Corey Burton in Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex, by Quinton Flynn in Crash Nitro Kart and Crash Twinsanity, and by Nolan North in the Radical Entertainment games.
In the Japanese versions, N.Gin is voiced by Kazuhiro Nakata in all games up to Crash Twinsanity, and by Mitsuru Ogata in Crash Tag Team Racing.
N. Gin attended the Academy of Evil with Nitrus Brio and Neo Cortex. N. Gin wore a partial metal helmet with a lodged paper plane - which would prove eerily predictive. Unlike his classmates, N. Gin did not continue with evil science and instead had a career in physics. Instead, he became a world-renowned physicist and worked in the defense industry. It was in this capacity that the famous accident occurred. One of his missiles struck him, but amazingly did not blow up. N. Gin was saved by Cortex, as he converted the missile into a life-support system.
N. Gin was called on by Cortex to replace Brio after the Evolv-O-Ray incidents. N. Gin analyzed a power crystal Cortex had found in a cave, and explained that he would need to acquire the lesser crystals to power his machine. Cortex decided to manipulate Crash into collecting the crystals for him, and eventually sent N. Gin to pick them up. Crash, however, destroyed N. Gin's mech - an encounter which N. Gin somehow survived. N. Gin also played a role in the Time Twister events. Again, he serves as the guardian of the fourth warp room. In a new, improved mech/weapons platform, he battles Coco Bandicoot and Pura on the moon. It has been suggested that N. Gin was the one who freed Cortex, Uka Uka and N. Tropy after the Time Twister collapsed. N. Gin played a minor role in Cortex's plan to unleash the Elementals and Crunch Bandicoot. He attended Uka Uka's conference and, alongside Dingodile, Tiny Tiger and N. Trophy, attempted to halt Crash.
After Cortex and Uka Uka were frozen in the Antarctic, N. Gin built a battleship. When Cortex finally returned to the islands, he plotted another attack on Crash. N. Gin and his new weapon, Mecha Bandicoot, helped him. Crash visited N. Gin's battleship in an attempt to collect enough power crystals to power the Psychetron. N. Gin fought Crash above the vessel, with Crash being the victor again. N. Gin, along with Brio and N. Tropy, then traveled to the Tenth Dimension in search of the treasure of the Evil Twins. Somehow, they beat Crash and Cortex, and N. Gin celebrated their gain. However, the celebration was short-lived, as the treasure's real owner - Spyro the Dragon - fought them off.
